Qualifications

My educational honors include a Master’s Degree in Social Work from the University of Cincinnati and a Master’s of Science Degree in Environmental Education from Lesley University. I have over twenty year’s experience teaching environmental education to children and young adults. I have had the pleasure to know the names of over five thousand children in that time.

I completed a one-year course in narrative therapy, taught by Jill Freedman and Gene Combs, and have completed many narrative therapy workshops. I attended the International Narrative Therapy Conference, in Vancouver, in 2012 and 2017.

Licensed by the North Carolina Social Work Certification and Licensure Board (license number C010521), I am professionally insured and a member of the National Association of Social Workers. I was the host of the Art of Storytelling Podcast with 123 hours of online content. I won the 2009 National Oracle Award for Service to the storytelling community from the National Storytelling Association.
